Museum of the Princes’ Island
The museum is located in the Prices’ Island which is the biggest island of archipelago at the Sea of Marmara. It was established by Adalar Municipality and the local foundation in the scope of Europian Capital of Culture Project and was opened on 10 september 2010.
The Museum of the Princes’ Island houses more than 6,000 photos (aerial photos) and historical information about the Princes’ Island. The museum gives also information about the biological life of the archipelago. There is a fossil of an almost 400 illion years old fish species Dunkleosteus. The other exibitions are for birds of the island, records about the islands from the ancient age authors, first life forms in the islands, early island inhabitants.
