The Galata Tower was constructed by the Roman Emperor Anastasius in 528 A.D. during the Latin invason the tower was destroyed and later it was rebuilt by the Genoeses in 1348 and named as Crist Tower.
It was used as watch tower for many years. Because the Galata Tower was the highest consruction in Istanbul with 67 m lenght. The tower is located in Galata neighboorhood of Beyoglu district.
The tower had been used for different purposes and finally it was converted into a museum. The top of it is a panoramic balcony, museum, cafe & restaurant.
