The mosaic museum is located behind the Blue Mosque and by the Arasta Bazaar. The museum is originally was a Roman palace (Bukaleon Palace). It had been unknown where the Bukaleon palace was untill 1953. After couple of excavations, the palace palace mosaics were reached.
The mosaics date back to the late antiquity period up to late Byzantine. The ancient masters described the hunting scenes, animals such as; lions, deers, sheeps, horses. The mosaics also give us some details of the rutine life, palace life. The Mosaic Museum is open everyday.
