The Ottoman Sultan Beyazid built the Beyazid Mosque in 1501-1506. The Bayezid Mosque is the second imperial mosque after Fatih Mosque in Istanbul.
According to some modern architects, it is the beginning of classical Ottoman architecture. Despite some required restorations, the mosque achieved to save its original atmosphere and materials. The mosque has two minarets. The dome is 17 meters.
The mosque is located between the Grand Bazaar and Istanbul University.
