The naval city, Side, was founded by the Anatolian indigenous and spoke the local language, which was different from Greek. Side never passed the under control of Pergamene Kingdom. The city’s name means pomegranate, which locals are still growing. Side is situated by the Mediterranean Sea, and most of the remainings date back to 1-4C AD. In Side, you will see; city walls dating back to 2C BC. The necropolis is an ancient cemetery with many sarcophagi, mausoleum, and tombs, which are on display in the museum.
