現代トルコの首都, with its 8 million population, is the second biggest city after Istanbul. According to ancient historian Stephanos Byzantines, Ankara was founded by the Galatians and named Ancyra, which means “anchor” in Latin. The historian tells us that the Galatians fought with king Pontos Mithradates against Ptolemaios at the Black Sea in 4C BC. With the Galatian forces, Mithradates won the battle then presented them land and anchor. The Galatians settled around Ankara and presented the anchor to the Temple Men.
