ANKARA CASTLE

Ankara Castle is located in the Altındag district of Ankara. It is unknown when or by whom it was built. When the Romans conquered Ankara from the Galatians, they renovated the castle in 2C BCE. The castle had been renovated several times by the Romans, Byzantines, Seljuks, and Ottomans. The castle hosts festivals every year.

Ankara Castle is 110 m. High from the ground level and it is composed of inner and outer walls. It has 20 bastions and 42 pointed towers on the walls.
