Selime Monastery was constructed as two storey, and it is the biggest monastery in Cappadocia, where it is located near Ihlara Valley.

The Cathedral has some frescoes which indicate Ascension and Mary. The Selime Monastery was located on the pack trail where they built a road to settle the camels. They used to ascent the camels on this hill where they could also pray. The kitchen, which was designed pyramid shape to illuminate the inside, plays an important role. The monastery had another feature that it was one of the most important schools to raise priests.
