The Roman Emperor Anastasius constructed the Galata Tower in 528 A.D. during the Latin invasion, and the tower was destroyed. Later, it was rebuilt by the Genoese in 1348 and named Crist Tower.
It was used as a watchtower for many years. Because the Galata Tower was the highest construction in Istanbul with 67 m length. The tower is located in the Galata neighborhood of the Beyoglu district.
The tower had been used for different purposes, and finally, it was converted into a museum. The top of it is a panoramic balcony, museum, cafe & restaurant.
