The mosaic museum is located behind the Blue Mosque and by the Arasta Bazaar. The museum is originally was a Roman palace (Bukaleon Palace). It had been unknown where the Bukaleon palace was until 1953. After a couple of excavations, they reached the palace mosaics.
The mosaics date back to the late antiquity period up to the late Byzantine. The ancient masters described the hunting scenes, and animals such as; lions, deer, sheep, and horses. The mosaics also give us some details of routine life, and palace life. The Mosaic Museum is open every day.
