NEMRUT

Mount Nemrut is located in Adiyaman province, eastern Turkey.

Mount Nemrut houses the tomb of Commagene King Antiochos and the Roman mythological gods’ statues and goddesses on top of the mount. 

The Commagene kingdom was founded by King Mithradates in 1st B.C. After him, his son Antiochus ruled the kingdom and the Commagene Kingdom passed the Roman Empire in 72 A.D. The Romans built a bridge which is called Cendere Bridge.

The mount is a national park, on World Cultural Heritage List by UNESCO and can be visited any year.

The top of the mount is 2150 meters, and the statues are located on the top.
