The Istanbul Naval Museum is located in the Besiktas district of Istanbul and near The Dolmabahce Palace. It is one of the first Turkish museums established by the Ottoman Minister Navy Hasan Husnu Pasha in 1897.
The museum houses the most remarkable artifacts of the Ottoman Navy. Around 20,000 pieces are on display in the museum. This is also the first military museum in Turkey.
The museum also has the imperial caiques, ship models, and chain pieces, which the Byzantines used to block the Golden Horn against the Ottoman army during the siege.
